MENTORS

One-on-one mentorship is central to the success of the MVSS program. Mentors volunteer to meet with the students over a two-year period, accompany students on visits to local colleges and universities, and help guide the essay writing and college selection process. Ideal mentors are positive, nurturing, clear communicators with good listening skills.

Mentors must have an undergraduate degree,  professional experience, and an understanding of the college admission process. Above all, mentors are student advocates at heart.
