In addition to having a mentor for junior and senior years, students receive individualized SAT/ACT prep, a comprehensive writing program, college visits and guidance, a pre-college summer program at a university, and access to the MVSS network.
No. While your mentor will provide guidance on scholarship applications, the program does not provide college tuition assistance.
You must communicate with your mentor and participate in the tutoring programs and workshops we provide. You also must maintain a GPA of at least 85.
You and your mentor will decide the frequency of your meetings, as well as time and place, based on both your schedules. Usually, it is twice a month.
You could, but we discourage that because of conflicting advice and time commitments.
We first focus on schools that are driving distance to give students a flavor of different kinds of colleges. After we zero in on each student’s interests, we will visit more specific campuses.
